Filter/Extruder unit for AVESTIN® High-Pressure Homogenizers.

Filter/Extruder Extrusion can be used alone or in conjuction with high-pressure homogenization to obtain liposomes with a Gaussian size distribution and a low standard deviation. A reduction in the size and number of lamellae of large multilamellar vesicles is achieved by forcing the suspension through polycarbonate membranes with a defined pore diameter. AVESTIN® filter/extruders can also be used for sterile filtration.
